Brother Of Al-Qaeda Leader Al-Zawahri Acquitted Of Terror Charges

Reports from Egypt say the brother of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri has been acquitted of terrorism charges by a military court, overturning a 14-year-old death-penalty case.

Mohammed al-Zawahri was part of a group convicted in 1998 of planning attacks and belonging to an extremist group.

He is the brother of Ayman al-Zawahri, who ascended to the top position in the terrorist group Al-Qaeda after last year's killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S. forces in Pakistan.

The court also acquitted Mohammed Islambouli, whose brother Khaled assassinated President Anwar Sadat in 1981.
