Arab League foreign ministers on August 12 unexpectedly cancelled a meeting planned for later that day in the Red Sea port of Jeddah.
Ministers had planned to discuss the crisis in Syria and to consider a replacement for former UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan, who resigned earlier this month after failing to see his six-point peace plan implemented.
Arab League Deputy Secretary-General Ahmed Ben Helli told reporters in Cairo that the meeting "has been postponed until a later date."
He declined to provide an explanation for the delay.
