At Least Two Russians Dead In Indian Bus Accident

At least two Russian nationals are among 13 people who reportedly were killed when a bus went off the road in India and plunged into a mountain river.

Russian tour companies responded to reports that all 13 people who died in the June 10 accident were from Russia by saying they could only confirm that two of the dead were Russians.

AP quotes an Indian policeman as saying two people were killed and 11 were airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

The bus was traveling in the Indian state of Uttarkhand to the temple town of Gangotri when it went off the road and fell into the Bhagirathi River.

Details of the accident remain unclear.
