A car bomb has exploded near an army barracks in Iraq's Diyala province, reportedly killing at least eight people and wounding more than a dozen.
The blast occurred at an army base at Kanaan, some 70 kilometers northeast of Baghdad.
According to some reports, the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
Officials said the building was destroyed and it was feared more victims could be buried under the rubble.
