Belgrade Protesters Decry Tree Cutting

Dozens of Belgrade residents protested on June 22 against the cutting of trees in the city's Kosutnjak park area. The protesters forced entry into the site where trees have been sawed down due to the planned construction of a sports hall. Discontent with the destruction of green areas in Belgrade has been regularly voiced at anti-government marches, which have been taking place in Serbia's capital for more than half a year now.
