Police in Moscow have announced that all three suspects in an acid attack on the Bolshoi Theater's artistic director have confessed to the crime.

The attack, in Moscow earlier this year, nearly blinded artistic director Sergei Filin, a 42-year-old former dancer.

Police said Bolshoi Theater dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko, who was detained on March 5, had admitted to the crime.

Police said the other two men also admitted their involvement -- allegedly one who threw the jar of acid in Filin's face and another who drove the getaway car.

The attack in a quiet snow-covered Moscow sidestreet outside Filin's home shocked Russians, who are used to violent settling of scores.

The attack also exposed the infighting at one its top cultural institutions, where Filin has served as artistic director for two years.

Filin is a 42-year-old former featured dancer at the Bolshoi and with a Georgian national ballet troupe.
