MONDAY, April 26:


Afghanistan
: Afghan President Hamid Karzai visits India.

Azerbaijan: Armenian, Georgian, and Russian religious leaders to attend the World Religious Leaders Summit in Baku.

Iran: Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki visits Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visits Norway (to April 27).

Russia: Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits Ukraine.

Ukraine: 24th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.


World: Global Water Summit 2010 opens in Paris (to April 27).

World: Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) spring session opens in Strasbourg (to April 30).


TUESDAY, April 27:


Kazakhstan: Almaty hosts the 9th Eurasian Media Forum (to April 28).

Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visits Denmark (to April 28).

Russia/Ukraine
: Russian and Ukrainian parliaments are set to ratify the Black Sea Fleet pact.

Ukraine: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is expected to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

WEDNESDAY, April 28:


CIS: Austria hosts the 4th Vienna Economic Forum for CIS countries and Eastern Europe (to May 1).

World: World Day for Safety and Health at Work.


THURSDAY, April 29:

Russia:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Russia: Russian-U.S. consultations on the adoption of Russian children by U.S. families (to April 30).

Ukraine/Belarus: Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych pays an official visit to Minsk.


World: Freedom House publishes its annual Freedom of the Press 2010 report.

World: USCIRF releases its 11th annual report on religious freedom.


FRIDAY, April 30:


Armenia: Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer visits Yerevan.

Georgia: Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili visits Romania (NOTE: This visit was reported postponed).

Turkmenistan: Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov visits China (to May 2).
