Russia: Trial of feminist Russian punk band Pussy Riot begins in Moscow.

Ukraine: The official parliamentary election campaign in Ukraine starts -- 90 days before election day.

U.S.: U.S. Secretary Hillary Clinton to deliver remarks on the 2011 State of International Religious Freedom report in Washington.


TUESDAY, July 31:

Azerbaijan/France: Azerbaijani and French foreign ministers meet in Paris.

Ukraine: Trial of jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko resumes in Kharkiv.

U.S./Iran: Washington Institute hosts a discussion titled "The Twilight War: The Secret History of America's Thirty-Year Conflict with Iran" in Washington.

U.S.: The 100th anniversary of the birth of Milton Friedman, influential American economist and winner of the 1976 Nobel Prize for Economics.

U.S.: The Department of State releases its annual Country Reports on Terrorism.


WEDNESDAY, August 1:

Kazakhstan: Launch of the Progress M-16M cargo craft is scheduled at Baikonur.

Ukraine/Tajikistan: The days of Ukrainian culture to be held in Tajikistan (to August 8).

U.S./Ukraine: Carnegie Endowment hosts a discussion titled "A Closer Look at Ukraine's Foreign Policy" in Washington.

THURSDAY, August 2:
