MONDAY, March 3:

Czech Republic
: The 16th One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival opens in Prague (to March 12).

EU: Brussels hosts an EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine.

Moldova/U.S.: Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca meets with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington.

Russia: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov attends the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, meets with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UN diplomat Lakhdar Brahimi.

UN: Geneva hosts 25th regular session of the Human Rights Council (to March 28).

Ukraine: British Foreign Secretary William Hague visits Kyiv.


TUESDAY, March 4:

Georgia: EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fuele visits Tbilisi.

Ukraine/U.S.: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visits Kyiv to meet with senior representatives of Ukraine’s new government, leaders of the Verhovna Rada, and members of civil society.

Ukraine/IMF: An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission starts consultations to prepare a new stand-by program of financial assistance in Kyiv.


WEDNESDAY, March 5:

Iran
: A new round of expert-level talks on Tehran’s nuclear energy program between Iran and the P5+1 group is scheduled to start in Vienna.
Iran/Japan: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visits Tokyo.

Russia: Moscow hosts the meeting of the Military Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Ukraine: EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton travels to Kyiv.
U.S.: Secretary of State John Kerry will visit Paris and Rome to participate in conferences focused on Lebanon and Libya (to March 6).
THURSDAY, March 6:


Ukraine: A congress of the Party of Regions is scheduled to be held in Donetsk.
World: Geneva hosts the 84th International Motor Show (March 16).

World: Rome hosts an international conference on Libya.


FRIDAY, March 7:

Russia
: Sochi hosts the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games (to March 16).

World: International Film Festival on Human Rights opens in Geneva (to March 16).


SATURDAY, March 8:

Russia
: The 70th anniversary of the deportation of the entire Balkar nation to Central Asia on Stalin's orders .

Iran
: EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is scheduled to visit Tehran (to March 10).
