Chinese, Uzbek Foreign Ministers Hold Talks In Tashkent

Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and his visiting Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, have discussed the two countries' bilateral ties in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry says the ministers also discussed on May 23 the results of Uzbekistan's 2015-2016 chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Foreign Ministers of the SCO member-states will convene in Tashkent on May 23-24.

Before arriving in the Uzbek capital, Wang visited Astana and Bishkek, where he held talks with Kazakh and Kyrgyz authorities.

The SCO comprises China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
