The sound of an explosion was reportedly heard in the Iranian city of Isfahan on November 28.
The head of the judiciary in the province, Gholamreza Ansari, told Iran's ISNA news agency that it appeared as though nothing important had happened.
He said he hadn't received any information from security officials about the reason for the apparent blast.
Earlier on November 28, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that a loud explosion had been heard in Isfahan.
Fars later removed the report from its website.
The deputy governor of Isfahan, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, who had been quoted by Fars, denied having spoken to the news agency and said no blast had been heard in the city.
The contradictory reports attracted attention because Isfahan is home to one of Iran's nuclear facilities.
