A U.S. military tribunal has recommended that the intelligence analyst suspected of passing classified information to Wikileaks should face a court martial.

Bradley Manning was arrested in May 2010 in connection with the leak of hundreds of thousands of secret U.S. documents to the antisecrecy website.

He could face life in prison if convicted.

Defense lawyers say the military never should have sent Manning, 24, to Iraq or given him access to classified material.
