A conference on cyberspace security that represents the first follow-up conference to the 2011 London Conference on Cyberspace is under way in Hungary's capital, Budapest, organizers said.
The two-day conference’s aim is “to promote capacity development, security, and the free use of cyberspace through close and practical cooperation between the private sector and government, as well as through more efficient cooperation between regional organizations.”
Addressing the gathering on October 4, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said that "cyberspace is emerging as a new dimension in conflicts of the future. Many nations simply do not yet have the defenses or the resources to counter state-sponsored cyber attack."
The event brings together nearly representatives from governments, the private sector, civil society, and the scientific community.
