At Least 65 Killed In Pair Of Pakistani Passenger Bus Crashes


In Pakistan, at least 65 people have been killed in a pair of accidents invovling passenger buses.

Authorities say 59 people died when a passenger bus collided with a oil tanker near the southern port city of Karachi.

Police said the bus was traveling from Karachi to Shikarpur and was overloaded with people riding on the roof when it collided head on with an oil tanker early on January 11 near Gulshan-e Hadeed.

The oil tanker reportedly was speeding and driving on the wrong side of the highway.

Both vehicles burst into flames after the collisionand many of the victims' bodies were burned beyond recognition.

Hours later, another passenger bus overturned on a highway in the southwestern province of Balochistan, killing six people and injuring many others.
