Bound Corpse Of Missing Policeman Found In Daghestan

The body of a police officer who apparently was killed execution-style has been found killed near the city of Buinaksk in Russia's restive North Caucasus region of Daghestan.

Local officials say the body of the police officer, who went missing on October 7, had a gunshot in the chest and his hands had been bound.

Last week, security forces and police killed seven alleged militants in the same area.

Violence between suspected Islamic militants and security forces in Russia's North Caucasus region leaves dozens of people dead and injured each year.

Based on reporting by Interfax and RIA-Novosti

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
