"Forbes" magazine has released its latest list of the world’s richest people with a record 1,426 billionaires.
The total net worth of the "Richest People On The Planet 2013" list is $5.4 trillion, up from $4.6 trillion one year ago.
There are 210 new billionaires from 42 countries.
Sixty people have been dropped since the last ranking, while eight have died.
The number of women billionaires rose from 104 to 138.
Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim’s fortune of $73 billion makes him the richest person in the world -- a spot he has held since 2010.
He is followed by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates with a net worth of $67 billion.
Credit Bank of Moscow owner Roman Avdeev tied Saudi Arabian banker Sulaiman Al Rajhi for having the most children on the list.
Nineteen of Avdeev’s 23 children are adopted.
