Davy Jones, the former singer of the pop band The Monkees, has died.

The Monkees were created for a TV show that was popular in the late 1960s in the United States.

The band had several hits that sold million of copies, including "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer."

Born in Manchester, England, Jones was the lone British member of the band.

Jones died of a heart attack while tending his horses at his home in Florida. He was 66.
