A Paris court has jailed nine people for links to an Uzbek militant group with ties to Al-Qaeda.
The heaviest sentence was against suspected ringleader Irfan Demirtas, a Turkish-Dutch national. He was given an eight-year prison sentence.
The others received sentences of up to three years in prison.
The nine men were convicted in connection with collecting money for the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), which seeks to establish a caliphate in Central Asia.
At the trial, defense lawyers said the funds were for humanitarian use. The network was broken up four years ago by French, German, and Dutch police.
A 10th man was acquitted.
