Georgia Detains Three Iranians On Drug Trafficking Charges

Police in Georgia have detained three Iranian nationals on suspicion of selling illegal drugs.

The Interior Ministry said on August 26 that the trio was detained at an electronic music festival in the Black Sea port city of Anaklia while they were selling illegal drugs to visitors of the event.

The ministry statement did not disclose the identities of the three Iranians, but said they were in their 20s.

If convicted, they may face up to 11 years in prison.
