Georgia’s Interior Ministry says the bodies of four foreign mountain climbers have been found on Mount Ushba in the northwestern part of the country.
Authorities did not immediately release the identities of the dead mountain climbers, but said they included one Russian, one Estonian, and two Israeli citizens.
Rescuers who found the bodies early on August 6 reportedly loaded them into a helicopter that transported them to Tbilisi.
Kakha Jorjoliani, the head of the Mestia municipal government, said authorities suspect that the mountain climbers fell down a precipice and were killed instantly.
