Gunmen Kill Six In Pakistan After Double Assassination

Firefighters extinguish a fire after protesters set alight a passenger bus in Karachi on March 27.
Gunmen have gone on the shooting spree in Pakistan's southern port of Karachi, killing at least six people and setting dozens of vehicles on fire.

The violence was sparked by the murder late on March 26 of Mansoor Mukhtar and his brother -- both members of the city's largest political party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Armed men took to the streets early on March 27 after news broadcasts about the assassinations.

The shootings have revived fears that Karachi, a city of 18 million people, could see a return of horrifying levels of violence seen last year when more than 1,700 people were killed.
