International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo has arrived in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, to follow up on the case of Muammar Qaddafi's captured son, Seif al-Islam.
The younger Qaddafi is wanted by the ICC for crimes against humanity, but Libyan officials have repeatedly stated that Seif al-Islam should be tried locally.
Seif al-Islam, who was arrested on November 19 in southern Libya following the ouster and death of his father, is being held in Zintan, 180 kilometers southwest of Tripoli.
During his three-day visit, Moreno-Ocampo is also expected to travel to the coastal city of Misurata to investigate allegations of abuse in detention facilities run by militiamen who fought forces loyal to Qaddafi.
It was not immediately clear whether Moreno-Ocampo would travel to Zintan.
