Iranian President Invited To Visit France In November

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says President Francois Hollande has invited Iranian President Hassan Rohani to visit France in November.

Fabius said on July 29 that he was personally carrying a letter of invitation to Rohani from the French president.

Fabius announced the invitation after meeting on July 29 in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Fabius was due to meet with Rohani later in the day.

The warming of diplomatic relations comes after Iran reached a deal with six world powers to curb its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.

Fabius's visit comes a day after European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini met in Tehran with Zarif.

Zarif said he and Mogherini agreed to begin high-level talks between the EU and Iran on matters ranging from "energy cooperation, human rights, confronting terrorism, and regional issues."
