At Least 15 Bodies Found In Baghdad

Police in the Iraqi capital reported finding at least 15 bullet-ridden bodies, including three women, raising fears the widespread violence in Iraq could become even worse now that the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan is over.

Police said the bodies were discovered in several Baghdad neighborhoods late July 27 and early July 28.

Some of the victims were shot and often were also found blindfolded and bound.

Police said the three women killed were between 25 to 30 years of age and had been hand-cuffed and shot in the head.

The bodies did not have any identification on them and police have not yet found a motive for the killings.

Other Baghdad residents were killed in drive-by shootings on July 28, the first day of the Eid al-Fitr Muslim holiday that follows Ramadan.
