At Least Five Dead In Iraq Bombings

Attacks in the Iraqi capital have killed at least five people.

In the deadliest incident, a magnetic bomb attached to a minbus exploded in the Sadr City section of Baghdad, killing at least three people and wounding six.

Several hours later, officials said gunmen killed a federal police general and his aide in a drive-by shooting on a western Baghdad highway.

Police said Brigadier General Naif Abdul-Razzaq and his driver were headed home from work when they were shot.

Police said the gunmen escaped before they could be caught.

No group has immediately claimed responsibility for either attack.

According to the French news agency AFP, at least 173 people have been killed in attacks in Iraq this month. More than 670 have been injured.
