Islamic State Shoots Down Helicopter In Iraq, Killing Three

Iraqi officials say Islamic State (IS) militants shot down a military helicopter west of Baghdad, killing two crew members and a member of the armed forces.

They said the Bell helicopter went down on February 17 near Amiriyah Fallujah, to the south of the IS-held city of Fallujah.

IS said in a message circulated by its supporters on Twitter that it had downed the aircraft.

An MI-17 military helicopter crashed a day earlier south of Baghdad, far from IS-held territory, killing all nine crew members on board.

Iraqi officials said that crash was caused by technical problems.
