An Israeli investigation into the raid on a vessel trying to break an Israeli blockade and deliver supplies to a Palestinian area determined Israeli forces acted legally, despite the deaths of nine activists aboard the vessel.

The Israeli inquiry commission found that the May 31 raid on the Turkish ship "Mavi Mamara" was "legal pursuant to the rules of international law."

The commission's 300-page report said the Israeli Navy acted "properly" and said the international activists had no right to ignore Israel's blockade of Gaza, even if they opposed it.
