Israeli troops clashed with Palestinian protesters along two of its borders today, leaving at least four people dead and dozens wounded.
Israeli media reported that four people were killed after troops fired on Palestinian refugees infiltrating the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights from Syria.
And more than 10 people were wounded after Israeli forces fired into the air to repel Palestinians demonstrating at Israel's border with Lebanon.
Both protests came as Palestinians marked the anniversary of Nakba, the term meaning "catastrophe" they use to describe the founding of Israel on May 15, 1948, an event that provoked the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
