Kazakh Police Break Up Opposition Rallies, Detain Dozens

Police in Kazakhstan have dispersed opposition rallies in several cities, including Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, and detained dozens of people. The rallies on September 21 were organized by Kazakhstan's Democratic Choice, which is banned and whose leader, Mukhtar Ablyazov, lives in self-imposed exile in France.
