The death toll from a building collapse in the Indian city of Mumbai has risen to 72.

Police said the chances of finding any survivors alive beneath the rumble were slowly dissipating.

A further 70 people were injured on April 5 when the eight-story building collapsed.

The building was being constructed illegally.

Between 100 and 150 people were in the building at the time of the tragedy. More than 20 remain missing.

Building collapses are common in India as builders try to cut corners by using poor quality materials.
