Netanyahu: World Shouldn't Trust Iran On Nuclear Issue

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaking at Davos.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has used a speech at the World Economic Forum to warn the world not to trust Iranian claims about the Islamic republic's nuclear program.

President Hassan Rohani earlier told a forum on January 23 in Davos, Switzerland, that Iran is ready to honor the recent deal with international powers to curb its nuclear program in order to help build its economy.

In his address to the meeting, Netanyahu accused Iran of only making promises on the nuclear issue to secure the easing of international sanctions.

He said "many" Arab states are as concerned as Israel that Iran is still trying to produce a nuclear weapon.

Iran says its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.

Israel, widely considered to be the Middle East's only nuclear power, has not ruled out using military force against Iranian atomic facilities.
