The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Russia's lower house of parliament, the State Duma, said on December 7 his country already has a "black list" of U.S. citizens who would be denied entry into Russia.

Speaking one day after the U.S. Senate passed the Magnitsky Act that would impose targeted sanctions on Russian officials who violate human rights, Aleksei Pushkov said Russia's Foreign Ministry has already compiled a list of U.S. citizens who, "in our opinion," are guilty of violations of human rights and will not be allowed in Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier on December 7 that Russia planned to deny visas to U.S. officials who violate human rights.

Based on reporting by ITAR-TASS and Interfax

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
