In Pakistan, at least 43 people were killed and 24 injured in an attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili sect in the southern seaport of Karachi. Officials and witnesses told RFE/RL that armed men on six motorbikes opened fire on the bus in a continuation of the ongoing sectarian killings in Pakistan. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called the attack a “deplorable attempt to spread chaos in Pakistan.”
