Pakistani officials say a roadside bomb has struck a vehicle carrying an anti-Taliban elder, killing him, his son, and another person.
Two others, including a tribal leader, were injured in the September 1 blast in the town of Ambar in the northwestern province of Mohmand, local officials said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but suspicion fell on local Taliban militants who often target pro-government elders in the tribal region.
The Pakistani military has carried out several operations against militants in the country's tribal regions bordering Afghanistan in recent years, but violence has continued.
