A court in Pakistan has refused bail to former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in a case related to the detention of judges in 2007.

Public prosecutor Aamir Nadeem said that an antiterrorism court in the capital, Islamabad, rejected Musharraf's bail application after listening to the defense and the prosecution.

The ruling comes two days after a separate court granted Musharraf bail in a case related to the murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Musharraf is accused of failing to provide adequate security for Bhutto, who was killed in Rawalpindi while campaigning for parliamentary elections in December 2007.

Musharraf has been in detention at his residence outside Islamabad since April 19 in cases related to the judges' detention, conspiracy to murder Bhutto, and the 2006 death of a Baloch rebel leader.
