Pakistani intelligence sources say a U.S. drone strike in the mountainous northwestern tribal region of North Waziristan has killed at least three militants.
The unidentified officials said the strike occurred in Shawal Valley late on May 18.
The Pakistani Taliban controlled almost all of North Waziristan until troops launched a long-awaited offensive there in June 2014.
The Taliban still maintains control of the deep, forested ravines of Shawal Valley and have used it as a launching pad for attacks on Pakistani forces.
Earlier on May 18, officials said a U.S. drone strike killed at least four suspected militants in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.
