The Proton rocket that will launch the ExoMars 2016 spacecraft to Mars is transferred to the launchpad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The spacecraft will search for signs of life on the red planet and is a joint project of the European Space Agency and Russia's Federal Space Agency. It is due to blast off on March 14. Children receive oxygen at a hospital in Taza, south of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk. Iraqi Kurdish officials accused Islamic State militants of using “poisonous substances” during shelling. The officials said an attack with mortar shells and Katyusha rockets filled with a chemical agent took place on March 8 in Taza, a mainly Shi’ite Turkoman village about 20 kilometers south of Kirkuk.
