Czech police have arrested a suspected sympathizer of Anders Behring Breivik, after finding a machine gun and explosives during a raid of his home.

Police said the 29-year old suspect, who had used the name of Breivik in e-mails, was arrested on August 10 in the city of Ostrava.

Police said it was unclear who the suspect, whose name was not revealed, might have been targeting.

The suspect has been convicted of several past offences, including a six-month suspended sentence in 2010 for exploding a homemade bomb at an Ostrava petrol station.

On July 22, 2011, Breivik set off a car bomb outside government buildings in Oslo, killing eight people, before going to an island and gunning down another 69 people, mostly teenagers.
