Poroshenko, Putin Discuss Peace Proposals For Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin have held direct talks on the crisis in eastern Ukraine at a summit in Minsk, Belarus. Speaking to reporters, Poroshenko said all sides “without exception” backed Kyiv's peace proposals for ending the fighting. Putin said Russia will “do everything to support this peace process if it starts” but that it was up to Kyiv to work out conditions for a cease-fire with the rebels. (Reuters)
