Dancer, Co-Defendants Sentenced In Bolshoi Acid Attack

A court in Moscow has sentenced ballet dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko to six years in jail for ordering an acid attack that partially blinded Bolshoi ballet artistic director Sergei Filin.

His two co-defendants were also found guilty and sentenced.

Yury Zarutsky, convicted of carrying out the attack, was sentenced to 10 years in jail. Driver Andrei Lipatov received four years in jail.

The January attack on Filin highlighted the backstage bickering at the renowned theater.

The maximum prison sentence for the charge against Dmitrichenko and Zarutsky is 12 years.
