Two suspects have been detained in the killing of a judge and a businessman from Russia's North Caucasus region of Chechnya.
The Interior Ministry of the region of Kabardino-Balkaria said on October 17 that the two men -- one of whom is a police officer -- were from another nearby region, Ingushetia.
Officials say they were detained late on October 16 aboard a train in Russia's Volgograd region.
They have reportedly confessed to the killings. The motives for the killings are being investigated.
The bodies of Chechen Arbitration Court Judge Adam Agakhadzhiyev and businessman Isa Atayev were found in a ditch along the Vladikavkaz-Pyatigorsk highway in Kabardino-Balkaria last week. The bodies carried gunshot wounds.
Russia's North Caucasus region has been plagued by violence linked to organized crime and an Islamic insurgency.
