Russian Communists Mark Anniversary Of Revolution

Several thousand mainly elderly members of Russia's Communist Party have marched through Moscow to mark the 95th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution.

The group marched to Revolution Square and held a rally.

Members of the opposition Left Front movement led by activist Sergei Udaltsov joined the rally.

In St. Petersburg, where Bolshevik forces overthrew the provisional government that took power from the monarchy earlier in 1917 and started the revolution, a new monument to Vladimir Lenin was unveiled at a university.

Communist Party members held a "festive" meeting near the vessel "Aurora," credited with firing the first shots that started the Bolshevik Revolution.
