Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the country's diplomats on the occasion of their professional holiday, the Day of Diplomatic Service.
Putin sent a telegram to the Foreign Ministry's staff saying that "the authority and influence" of Russia continues to grow.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also sent his congratulations, noting especially the Foreign Ministry's work promoting "integration in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space."
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov posted a statement on the ministry's website saying that "all the ministry's efforts are aimed at making Russia a prosperous country."
He said Russia's diplomats uses "the entire arsenal of available means, including modern technology" to carry out their instructions.
