Russian world junior champion Yevgenia Medvedeva has won the Skate America championship in the United States, edging out U.S. Olympian Gracie Gold in her first Grand Prix Series event.
During her competition in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 24, the 15-year-old Medvedeva had a fall on a double Axel combination.
But she rallied, adding double toe loops to the end of two jump elements.
She finished with 206.01 points.
Speaking after her victory, Medvedeva said that, after her fall, she focused her mind on the moves coming up next in her routine rather than dwelling on her mistake.
Gold finished with 202.80 points.
World championships silver medalist Satoko Miyahara of Japan was third with 188.07 points.
