Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 25 that the situation related to the Black Sea grain deal had reached a deadlock, adding that there were still obstacles blocking Russian exports. The pact was renewed for 60 days last month, but Moscow has signaled that it may well not agree to extend it further unless the West removes obstacles to the exports of Russian grain and fertilizer. Lavrov told a news conference at the UN that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had sent a letter to President Vladimir Putin regarding the deal and that there would be a reaction in due course.
