The Russian investigative group Proyekt (Project) said on August 21 that an organization led by Yelena Milskaya, the wife of Emergency Minister Aleksandr Kurenkov, was involved in the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia last year. In March, the UN's International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for President Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova, a Russian children's rights official, accusing them of the illegal deportation of children from Russia-occupied Ukrainian territories to the Russian Federation.
