Yandex Co-Founder Segalovich Dead At 48

Ilya Segalovich, the co-founder of the Russian search engine Yandex, has died in a London hospital.

Yandex's press service made the announcement on July 28, adding that the funeral will be held August 1.

The statement said that Segalovich, 48, was disconnected from life support on July 27.

Segalovich was declared brain dead on July 25 while undergoing cancer treatment.

He was diagnosed with cancer in September 2012.

Before his death, Segalovich was Yandex's chief technical officer.

Yandex accounts for 62 percent of all Russian searches and ranks fourth worldwide.

The Yandex statement said Segalovich's body will be returned to Russia on July 31.
