A Russian court has sentenced nine members of an ultranationalist group to prison for a range of crimes including murder.
A St. Petersburg court on June 23 gave the convicts terms of between three and 24 years.
One defendant received a suspended sentence of two years in jail.
The members of the group known as NS-WP were found guilty of eight murders, several attempted murders, arson attacks, and the carrying out of a terrorist act.
The majority of the victims of the NS-WP members were people from Africa, the Caucasus, and Central Asia, along with homeless people.
Also on June 23, the Investigative Committee in Moscow said police arrested three Moscow university students on suspicion of beating to death an Azerbaijani man.
The three are reportedly members of the Restrukt (Restructure) nationalist group.
