A well-known Russian TV anchor has been taken off the air after making an obscene gesture upon mentioning U.S. President Barack Obama during a live newscast.

Tatiana Limanova waved her middle finger a moment after mentioning Obama's name during a report on the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in the United States.

Limanova is an award-winning journalist and a host of a news show on the REN-TV private channel. It was unclear whether she had been suspended or fired.
