Indonesians Find Second Black Box From Crashed Russian Plane

Sukhoi's chief civil test pilot, Aleksandr Yablontsev (left), and his crew sit in the cockpit of a Sukhoi Superjet during a flight on May 8, one day before the deadly crash in Indonesia.
Searchers in Indonesia have found the second black box from the Russian Sukhoi passenger jet that crashed during a promotional flight earlier this month.

Search operation leader Ketut Purwa said the flight recorder was found on May 30 and seemed to be intact.

Investigators are still trying to learn why the Sukhoi Superjet-100 with 45 people aboard crashed into the 2,200-meter Mount Salak on May 9 during a demonstration flight for potential buyers.

The other black box, which suffered damage in the crash, was found on May 16.
